Pakiet ktory wykupiliśmy w Negril Escape Resort obejmował noclegi ze śniadaniami i 14 nurkowań na każdego z nas. Centrum nurkowe Negril Scuba Centre znajduje się w resorcie więc nie trzeba było nigdzie biegać osobno. Druga baza tego centrum znajduje się przy siostrzanym resorcie w Negril, przy plaży, 10 min busem. Kilka nurów zaliczlyśmy z klifów w naszym resorcie nurkując na house reef, ale większość zaliczyliśmy wypływając łodzią z plaży nie dalej niż 5-15 min od plaży.
Our package we got at Negril Escape Resort included breakfasts and 14 dives per head. The dive centre Negril Scuba Centre is located within the resort so it was very convenient. The second dive centre is situated by the sister resort on the Negril beach, 10 min by bus. A few dives we made from the cliffs at our resort, but most of them were boat dives, no further than 5-15 min from the beach.
Centrum nurkowe dobrze zorganizowane jak na Jamajskie klimaty ;) Sprzęt dobry i ogranizacja nurkowania też. Na łodzi nie było nas z reguły więcej niż 6 osób. Naszymi dive master'ami byli Chris, MIkey i Curtis, na zmianę. Mikey to najbardziej zwariowany dive master jakiego poznaliśmy, wyluzowany na maksa i baaardzo Jamajski Jamajczyk :) Chris był całkowitym jego przeciwieńśtwem, bardziej poważny, a Curtis tak trochę pomiędzy nimi :)
The dive centre is really well equipped and it was a well organised Jamaican dive centre ;) The equipment was good and there were no more than 6 of us during boat dives. Our dive masters were Chris, Mikey and Curtis, one at a time. All of them were very nice and friendly, Mikey was probably the craziest dive master we've ever met, very chilled out and very Jamaican ;) Chris was a bit more serious and totally different than Mikey, while Curtis was a bit in the middle. All really nice guys and diving with them was a real pleasure and a lot of fun.
Rafy Jamajskie są zupełnie inne niż te w Morzu Czerwonym czy Oceanie Indyjskim. Jest trochę bardziej brązowo, ale życie podwodne jest dosyć bogate i różne morskie stwory można spotkać. Do tej pory to chyba tutaj spotkaliśmy najwięcej żłówi do tego dochodzą homary, kraby, skrzydlice, mureny, kraby, płaszczki…
Jamaican reefs are slightly different than Red Sea or Indian Ocean reefs. They are more brown in colours but the sea life is as rich and differentiated. So far, I think, it was here we have met the most number of turtles, but also a lot of lobsters, crabs, lion fish, moray eels, sting rays...
Te wakacje i to nurkowanie będzie jednym z pamiętnych nurkowań. Jednego dnia zeszliśmy na rafę z Mikey'm i mniej więcej w połowie nurkowania Mikey dawał nam znaki, że słychać delfiny. Coś niecoś rzeczywiście było słychać ale tak do końca nie wiadomo co. Więc tak trochę przycupnęliśmy na dnie (około 18m) i nasłuchiwaliśmy. No i nagle ni stąd niz owąd pojawiły się 3 duże delfiny, zakręciły się wokół nas po kilka razy, pośmiały się z nas trochę i połynęły dalej! Całe spotkanie trwało może minutę może krócej ale dla nas to było i tak niesamowite przeżycie i wydawało się dłużej. Poruszały się tak szybko, że nawet nasz aparat nie nadążał i Piotrkowi udało się zrobić jedno jedyne zdjęcie ale za to już bardziej perfekcyjnie chyba się nie dało. :)
This holiday and diving will be one of the most memorable ones. One day we dived with Mikey and about half through the dive he gave us some signs that we can hear dolphins. We did hear something but were not entirely sure what it was. So we just sat n the bottom (at about 18m), listened and waited. Suddenly out of nowhere 3 pretty big dolphins appeared, circled around us a few times, laughing at us and off they were! The whole encounter probably didn’t last longer than a minute but for us it was an amazing experience and we thought it was longer. They moved so fast that even our SLR didn’t catch up. Piotr managed to take one and only photo but what a perfect shot it was :)
Piotrek rozszerzył swoje nurkowe kwalifikacje robiąc dodatkowy kurs na zaawansowanego nurka (PADI Advanced Open Water) dzięki któremu może schodzić na 30m. Zaliczył też jedno nocne nurkowanie z Mikey'm i Kubą - Polakiem z USA (który też przyjechał na wakacje na Jamajkę).
Piotr extended his diving abilities by doing PADI Advanced Open Water course thanks to which he can dive up to 30m. He also went for one night dive with Mikey and Kuba - Polish guy from the USA (was also on holiday in Jamaica).
Zdjęcia robiliśmy ponownie naszym Nikon D70 ale tym razem pozbyliśmy się plastikowego niemieckiego eva-marine worka (sprzedałam na ebay’u) i zafundowaliśmy sobie prawdziwe 'opakowanie' do zabierania Nikona pod wodę. Wodoszczelna obudowa podwodna kosztowała więcej niż sam aparat i Piotrek zamówił go z USA bo nawet po zapłaceniu cła wyszło nas to trochę taniej niż kupienie w Europie.
Z takim sprzętem to można robić zdjęcia i nie martwić się o aparat. Robienie zdjęć aparatem w takiej obudowie jest łatwe, jest dostęp do wszystkich przycisków, i całość jest całkiem lekka pod wodą i nie utrudnia nurkowania.
Our photos were taken again with our Nikon D70 but this time we got rid of our German plastic eva-marine bag (sold it on ebay) and we equipped ourselves with a proper underwater housing for Nikon D70. The housing was very expensive and cost a bit more than the camera itself. Piotr ordered it from the USA as even after paying the customs we still ended up paying a bit less than getting it from Europe.
With this sort of equipment you can take photos under water and don’t have to worry about the camera. The housing is really easy to use, with the access to all buttons and it is very easy to take photos under water. The whole lot with the camera is really light underwater and doesn’t make the diving difficult in any way so it was a good buy.
Nurkowanie w Negril bardzo nam się podobało, było inaczej niż w innych miejscach które zaliczliśmy do tej pory, równie ciekawie plus dzięki dobrej atmosferze i poczuciu humoru było naprawdę przyjemnie.
Diving in Negril was really enjoyable and it was different from other dive spots we have visited so far, it was as interesting and thanks to a good atmosphere and sense of humour we had a really great time.
