PIERWSZA WIZYTA W KL / FIRST VISIT TO KL
Stolica Malezji KL, czyli Kuala Lumpur, znajduje się od nas jakieś 30-40 min samochodem. Pierwszy raz pojechaliśmy tam w pierwszy weekend listopada. Wizyta była trochę nieplanowana więc nie robiliśmy żadnego zwiedzania. Właściwie to wybraliśmy się w ten dzień do Mid Valley Mega Mall - najdłuższe centrum handlowe w Południowo-wschodniej Azji, bo odbywały się tam jakieś targi komputerowe. Niestety jak dojechaliśmy tam popołudniem to wszystkie parkingi były pełne. Postanowiliśmy więc pojechać dalej i dotarliśmy do Suria KLCC - najpopularniejsze i centrum handlowe w KL, pod samymi wieżami Petronas Towers. Suria jest ogromnym centrum i chyba potrzebne by były ze dwa weekendy żeby dokładnie wszystkie sklepy odwiedzić.
The capital of Malaysia KL, short for Kuala Lumpur, is situated around 30-40 min drive from our condo. The first time we got there was during the first weekend in November. We didn’t plan this visit so we didn’t do any sightseeing. We planned to visit Mid Valley Mega Mall - the longest shopping centre in South East Asia, because there was some sort of a computer event. Unfortunately when we got there, all car parks were full. So we decided to continue our journey and went to Suria KLCC - the most famous shopping centre in KL, right by the Petronas Towers. Suria shopping centre is huge and we would probably need two full weekends to visit every single shop in it.
Do KL dotarliśmy popołudniem więc po obejściu paru sklepów i zjedzeniu obiadu, zaczęło się już robić ciemno i zostaliśmy jeszcze trochę aby popodziwiać po raz pierwszy Petronas Towers.
Wyszliśmy najpierw od strony dużego parku (KLCC Park), w którym znajduje się jeziorko z tańczącymi fontannami, i mieliśmy okazję trochę się pozachwycać i popodziwiać Petronas Towers po zmroku. Potem przeszliśmy przez centrum handlowe na drugą stronę i podziwaliśmy wieże z drugiej strony.
We got to KL in the afternoon and after visiting a few shops and having dinner, it was getting dark and we stayed longer to admire Petronas Twin Towers for the first time. We went to see the tower from the KLCC park initially. There is a pond with dancing fountains so we watched a bit of those as well and admired the Towers after dark. Then we walked to the other side through Suria centre and we admired the towers from the other side as well.
Petronas Twin Towers powstały w 1998 i są najwyższym bliźniaczym budynkiem na świecie, sięgające wysokości 452m (1,483 ft), 88 pięter. Mniej więcej w połowie, na 170m (41 piętro), znajduje się most widokowy o długości 58.4m, łączący obie wieże. W każdej z wież znajduje się 29 dwupoziomowych wind, 10 ruchomych schodów, 765 klatek schodowych, 5 poziomowy parking na 5400 samochodów, i każda wieża waży 300,000 ton.
Wieże po zmroku robią wrażenie chociaż otoczone są wysokimi budynkami na pierwszy rzut oka patrząc z dołu jakoś takie ogromne się nie wydają ;)
Petronas Twin Towers were officially opened in 1998 and they are the tallest twin building in the world, at the height of 452m (1,483 ft), 88 floors. In the middle, at 170m (41 floor) there is a sky bridge open to visitors, 58.4m long, connecting both towers. In each tower there are 29 double deck lifts, 10 escalators, 765 flights of stairs, 5 levels of underground parking for 5400 cars and each tower weighs 300,000 tonne.
The towers are really impressive after dark although there are other tall buildings in the area so at first glance looking up, they don’t seem to be so huge ;)
Wieże są imponujące i robią wrażenie. Mam nadzieję że uda mi się namówić Piotrka aby się przejść mostem w połowie i popodziwiać widoki :) Napewno jeszcze nie raz wybierzemy się do KL, i napewno nie raz zobaczymy Petronas Towers, w świetle dziennym również.
The Towers make a real impact on the area and look massive. I hope to get Piotr into having a walk through the sky bridge between the towers :) I know we will visit KL a few times and for sure we will see the Petronas Twin Towers, in daylight as well.
