NOWY GADŻET / NEW GADGET
Nasz główny obiektyw do aparatu popsuł się ostatnio, nie zbliżał, nie fokusował, jakiś kabelek się w środku odczepił…
Na szczęście udało nam się go naprawić w serwisie Nikona w Kuala Lumpur, za ułamek ceny nowego (334RM - około £70). Serwis Nikona znajduje się w Berjaya Times Square. Jest to przeogromne centrum handlowe które składa się dokładnie z 12 pięter sklepów i restauracji. 12 poziomów. Około 700,000 m2. Ponad 1000 lokal, kino 9 ekranowe, duży park rozrywki wewnątrz (=wesołe miasteczko w budynku) i kręgielnia z 48 stanowiskami. Piotrek przez chwilę zastanawiał się nawet nad jazdą rollercoasterem ;)
Oprócz naprawienia tam naszego obiektywu, kupiliśmy też tam, całkiem nowy. Zerkaliśmy na niego w Singapurze ale okazał się być droższy więc po długim wahaniu czy go nabyć czy nie, kupiliśmy go tu na miejscu w Malezji, taniej. Obektyw to Nikkor 10-24 i nadaje się do robienia zdjęc panoramicznych jako że ma bardzo szeroki kąt widzenia.
Our main camera lens broke recently, it didn’t zoom properly and didn’t focus, and some sort of a cable disconnected inside...
Luckily it was possible to fix it so we had it repaired at Nikon Service Centre in Kuala Lumpur, for a fraction of the price of a new lens (334RM - around £70). Nikon Service Centre is situated in Berjaya Times Square. It’s a huge shopping complex with 12 floors of shops, restaurants and entertainment. 12 levels. Around 7.5 mln sq feet. Over 1000 units, 9 screens cinema, big theme park inside, with full size roller coaster and bowling alley with 48 stations. Piotr had some thoughts on having a ride on the roller coaster but me and Maya decided against ;)
Apart from having our old lens fixed, we also bought a new one. We were looking at it in Singapore but turned out to be more expensive, so after lots of thinking we decided to give it a go and bought one in Malaysia, cheaper. The lens is Nikkor 10-24 and is perfect for taking panoramic photos as it has a very wide angle.
Czasami w gazetach czy na stronach biur podróży są zdjęcia hoteli, pokoi hotelowych, basenów itp, które wyglądają że są bardzo duże, przestronne a po przybyciu na miejsce okazują się nie być takie spore. To tylko złudzenie na zdjęciu. Nasz właśnie nowy obiektyw robi takie właśnie złudzenie. Obejmuje dużo swoim szerkim kątem ale jednocześnie to co na zdjęciu wydaje się być dużo większe, przestronniejsze, niż w rzeczywistości. Czasem to co znajduje się na brzegach zdjęcia jest zniekształcone, zależy co to jest i jaką ma fakturę.
Szkoda że nie mieliśmy go w Singapurze bo do robienia widoków i panoram miasta nadaje się idealnie. Z tym obiektywem robiąc zdjęcie można stać bardzo blisko fotografowanego obiektu a jednocześnie objąć obiekt i sporo tego co dookoła niego. Mogę robić zdjęcia Mayki stojąc bardzo blisko niej a jednocześnie obejmując ją i bardzo dużo innych rzeczy dookoła, mniej lub bardziej ważnych.
Sometimes in the magazines or travel websites you see pictures of hotels, pools, rooms, etc. that look pretty impressive, big and spacious. After you arrive at the place, it turns out that these are not that spacious as you thought they would be. It is just a photo illusion. Our new lens creates this sort of an illusion because of its wide angle. It actually makes the thing a bit bigger, or the place looks more spacious, than it really is. Sometimes it distorts whatever is on the edges of the photo but that depends on the photo itself, what is being photographed and/or what texture it is.
It was a shame we hadn’t had this lens in Singapore as it would be perfect for taking photos of the city views. With this lens you can stand very close to the object and take the photo including lots of other things around. I can take photos of Maya standing very close to her and take a photo of her, as well as the background and other less or more important things around.
